So the white sneaker trend has been around for a fair few months. The trend slowly cropped up last year, first on our Insta feeds, then slowly on It girls around the world, then celebs quickly embraced the trend and threw all of their heels away.
OK, so maybe they didn’t throw all of their heels away but you get the idea.
Fast forward to 2016 and white sneakers are still all the rage. In fact this year we feel like the trend is way rage-ier than last year, and really just won’t go away. So we have to embrace it.
Also; Victoria Beckham recently told The Telegraph in London, "I just can't do heels anymore. At least not when I'm working, [and] I travel a lot. Clothes have to be simple and comfortable."
Soooo ahem….did you read that! The queen of heels, who is renowned for wearing 15 centimetre platform heels on her flights, to watch her kids play soccer, while out shopping and probably on the treadmill too, “Just can’t do heels anymore.”
It’s like fashion Armageddon!
But it doesn’t stop there, because we also saw them everywhere on the street stylers at London Fashion Week AW 16. From the FRONT ROW, to the shows and everywhere in between. They were really a London gal staple.
But honestly, rather than get too excited, we also know that for some (shorty’s) wearing flats might take a little confidence. Because for many, embracing flats is like waving goodbye to longer, leaner legs as well as the ‘slay’ feeling that comes with donning sky high loves that make you at least five centimetres taller….
Although we think we’ll take this trend while we can. Because not only are white sneakers faaaaashion, but they’re comfy.
Plus you can wear them with anything and everything, so outfits don’t require much thinking. Just look at Kendall and Gigi! Throw them on with your active wear (naturally), wear them with slip dresses, oversized coats, boyfriends jeans, knit dresses, biker jackets – the possibilities are endless.
But don’t throw away your heels just yet! They’ll come back. They have to.
