Nobody has time to follow through on every skincare rule ever invented. (Could you imagine? Holyhell.) In fact, when we don’t have time we might actually be more likely to use a face wipe or two before crawling into bed instead…and that’s really as far as our skincare routine might go.
But you know what? Our skin needs much more care than that; and really we don’t need too much time to look after it and give it the TLC it deserves. We just need the right ammo (aka. the right beauty toys) and of course, a teensy bit of motivation to make it work.
So instead of letting your skincare routine scare you let’s talk through some skincare shortcuts to take when you don’t have time.
Make Hyaluronic Acid your BFF
Hydration is hands down the quickest way to make your skin look fresher, younger, plumper and more beautiful-er no matter what your skincare type, which is why investing in a Hyaluronic Acid formula based serum, or moisturiser makes this the most important step. Hyaluronic Acid is a substance naturally present in our bodies. It’s primary role is to maintain the skin’s moisture levels and has the unique ability to hold up to 1000 times it’s own weight in water. It pretty much equals hydration overload for your face. It’s also the quickest and easiest product to use to make your skin glow when your schedule is nutso.

Invest in a cleansing brush
Cleansing is really a step you can’t live without, no matter how busy you get. Your makeup needs to come off or you will forever live with dull, dry looking skin. Cleansing wipes are ok every once in a while, but they don’t actually take your makeup off properly so you do normally need to cleanse again after you use them. Which is why investing in a cleansing brush like the Clarisonic will do wonders for your skin whilst also saving you valuable time. The bristles will cleanse much deeper than you ever could, they’ll also help exfoliate your skin and you can play around with the speed settings. Plus your creams will penetrate and work much better after because they won’t be stopped by leftover makeup. Glow skin glow!

Facemask and multi-task
We often leave luxuries like face masks to days when we’re chill, have nothing to do or while we’re binge watching our fave. things on Netflix. But when you don’t have time sometimes a gal has to make do and face mask and multi-task instead. Have you ever thought about popping a face mask on pre-makeup in the morning post shower while you’re getting dressed, eating breakfast, or after dinner while you’re cleaning, working or even prepping stuff for the next day? You really don’t have to carve out much time to pop on a weekly face mask, just do it when you can. The key is to look for formulas that are a little richer like creams, rather than gels that might drip. Most of the time 15 mins max is all you need. And if you’re stuck on which mask to get (the choices are endless) look for a purifying clay based mask that will suit most skin types. It's a good one to have in your beauty stash too!

Invest in makeup that fights blemishes
If you get a pimple and want to banish it to the ends of the earth quickly then you need to invest in beauty products that will both conceal and fight your evil pimple at the same time. That way you not only get to fight it all day long, but come night you can then continue the fight with a product like Tea Tree Oil as well. The conclusion? Your blemish will be gone much quicker than if you were only fighting it at night. Look for concealing beauty products that contain ingredients such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide and you’ll be sweet.
