Start your week on a healthier note (or at least attempt to) with these five healthy hacks below.

Find a workout that’s fun
Ok, so not everybody likes to workout, but why waste your time heading to the gym and putting your body through something you don’t even like doing? It’s really not the best way to cap off (or even start) your day. Finding a way to workout that you actually enjoy will be better not only for your body, but for your mind as well. Plus, according to a study by Cornell University in the US, people who have fun while training eat less food post-workout! So learn to move your body in a way that’s fun, instead of hellish.
Make over your fridge
You’ve probably thought about making over yourself, or your wardrobe countless times, but how about this week you schedule in some time to make over your fridge! Not only will you be able to get rid of a bunch of food you’ve probably been meaning to dump for ages but you can re-jig everything so that the most important items (greens, chocolate etc…) aren’t hidden away and instead are placed front and centre for you to reach for in times of need. Once that's done every time you open the fridge door you’ll reach for the good stuff, as well as being reminded that you DO actually have food to cook with instead of ordering your fave. takeout - yet again.
Treat your taste buds to green matcha tea
Green smoothies have been raved about for years now. We all know we should be drinking them (along with bucket loads of water each day.) But you know what? There are so many more wellness drinks out on the market just waiting for your taste buds to explore, and green matcha tea is most def. one of them. Seriously, try swapping your morning coffee for one of these babies and see how you feel? Matcha tea is high in antioxidants, will give you a caffeine buzz (kind of like coffee, just not as strong/won’t leave you feeling jittery) and will boost your metabolism. Don’t be scared. Just try swapping at least just one of your daily cups of coffee for this different hit of caffeine. Or pop some in your smoothie! Do it. C’mooooon. Step outside of your comfort zone.
Don’t check your emails when you wake up
A digital detox is a must for many of us who scroll way too much, for way too many hours a day. But did you know that one of the most common things that successful people have in common is that they never check emails when they wake up? For real. Author Julie Morgenstern actually wrote an entire book about it (fittingly) called “Never check email in the morning”. She argues that if you start your day by responding to emails you’ll “never recover”. Email is reactive not proactive and it's actually much more efficient to focus on one major goal rather than jump from task to task. Not only will you be less stressed, but think of all the time you’ll save!
Ps. Learning to leave your phone behind and be totally chill about it is a magical art (that we really need to practice more often).
Stretch, stretch, stretch
How good does stretching make you feel? Your body loves it, craves it and 5-10 mins a day is really all you need to reap the benefits. Stretch first thing in the morning to help you wake up, start your day and help get rid of all those aches and pains you might have from sleeping in weird/funky positions. You could start with a neck and shoulder stretch by tilting your head to each side. Left ear to left shoulder, right ear to right shoulder hold for 30 seconds each side. This stretch can help ease any tension you built up while sleeping. Then you could try lacing your fingers together and raising your arms above your head, palms facing up - a stretch that will help get the blood flowing in your body; and finally you could finish with a spinal twist to relive any stress in your lower back. Helloooo early morning yoga!
