Can anybody remember what life was like without apps? What was life like back then? Seriously, because there’s an app for pretty much everything now – and honestly they save our butts on the daily. In short, apps are life.
They help us when we’re bored, when we need inspiration, when we want to get fit and they even come in handy when we’ve had too much time connected to our apps and need a break from them… because we can do that too…with an app.
Anyway, despite the fact that we know we need to step away from our phones and disconnect every once in a while, we also think it’s handy to have some much needed technological help available when we return. Which is why we’ve decided to round up some of of our favourite apps to share with you below!
Why wait for a taxi when now you can order a convenient, cheaper car (and if you’re lucky one that’s filled with sweets and delish treats) to your door! Plus, you don’t even need to use real money; you just pay through the app.
Feeling stressed and anxious has become all too common today which is why it’s important to take some time out for you – and that’s where Headspace can help. This is an app that teaches you mindfulness and meditation but in less than 10 minutes a day (so really, everybody can learn.) You start off slow then build up and tailor a program to suit you. It’s like taking baby steps into Zen land.
The Hunt is the best fashion friend you’ve been looking for (and also the perf. alternative when your bestie goes MIA.) Whether you’re on the hunt for an item you’ve seen on a celeb or model or are after some fashion advice, all you have to do is post a photo of whatever advice it is you’re after and ask users for their help!
Selfie aficionados rejoice (although if you’re a true selfie aficionado you’ve probably already downloaded this app). Facetune is an app that will make you look like ‘I just woke up like this, ‘ when really ‘you did not wake up like that at all.' Take a selfie then get rid of your red eyes, pimples and even change the look of your teeth. With Facetune you will conquer the world (in the fakest most perfect of ways).
Look and Cook
Use this app to unleash the cook within (even if you never knew there was a cook within you). ‘Look’ through all of the images of super, simple meal ideas, then when you find one you like, hit ‘cook’ and follow the simple step-by-step instructions. There aren’t a zillion and one recipes although there are enough to encourage you to stop ordering takeout/teach you how to cook a couple of basic meals for you to impress someone with.
If you can’t survive without Google maps and you’re travelling overseas then downloading this app is a must! Not only will Citymapper help you get around major international cities like London, New York and Berlin but it also tells you how much it costs using different modes of transport, how many calories you’ll burn if you walk and it’ll even tell you what the weather is like at your destination! It’s everything.
Tell us, what are some of your favourite apps?
