Face Masks To Save Your Skin This Summer

It’s almost the end of summer and if you’ve spent a bit of time in the sun then your skin could probably do with a little TLC. Dark spots, dehydration, uneven skin tone we’ve all been there but rather then head into the next season with our summer skin complaints let’s tackle them head on right now. Below we've rounded up a bunch of our fave. face masks to brighten, pump up the moisture and generally make our skin ready to face another day.

Aspect Fruit Enzyme Mask - $60.00

This is a super strength antioxidant filled mask packed with a blend of powerful ingredients including coffee, green tea, pomegranate and acai berry. It not only exfoliates and removes dirt and grime build up but it’s gentle enough to be used on sensitive skin too. It goes on like a sticky gel and quickly dissolves into a light exfoliating liquid you rub on your face. 10-15 mins max is all you need.

Dr Jart Rubber Mask Moist Lover (avail at Sephora early March)

Ok, so we’ve all used sheet masks. They’re the scary looking cloths with holes cut out for your eyes and mouth, you’ve probably seen them around the place. However Dr Jart is releasing pumped up scarier versions that instead of looking like cloths look like rubber. Anyway, they’re made out of seaweed and applying the mask is a two step process. First you rub the serum on your face then you stick the mask on. So easy. The Moist Lover is super hydrating and will deliver you a bunch of much needed hydration post summer - super quick!

The Jojoba Company Botanical Hydrating Mask - $39.95

If a natural beauty is more your thing then you can’t go past The Jojoba Company’s Botanical Hydrating Mask. It’s a cult classic among green beauty lovers far and wide - because it delivers the results! Filled with plumping marine collagen, organic honey to boost the natural hydrating qualities of jojoba and antioxidants like ginko biloba it’ll plump up your skin like nothing else. Leave it on for 20 minutes or if you’re feeling lazy you can leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning. Perfection for all skin types.

PCA Skin Purifiying Mask - $98.00

If you’re in the real need for a skin detox then this is the mask for you. It not only detoxifies your skin leaving it brighter and a heck of a lot clearer but it also nourishes dryness and any dehydration to help return a little balance to your face. Suitable for all skin types. Plus it only takes 5-10 mins… and we all have that type of time.

Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask with Echinacea GreenEnvy™ (avail at Sephora early March)

Ok, so this is another newbie and it works OH' so well. It’s made by a brand called Farmacy which is a new science/green beauty brand that is coming to Sephora Aus in a couple of months and is a mask made from honey (which is a natural humectant that has been used on the skin since ancient times) designed to hydrate, fill out fine lines/wrinkles and help with dull skin and uneven texture. When you pop it on your face it looks like honey (without the stickiness) although as you rub it on it warms with your skin and transforms into a super-rich cream. Maybe it wouldn’t be super fun to use in summer, although as the weather starts to cool down this one will be amazing to boost your post summer skin. 10 mins max.

Erno Laszlo Firm and Lift Sheet Mask - $113.00 (set of four)

This is such a good sheet mask to end summer with, so a little on the pricier side of things although if you’re really into feeling luxe then this mask is for you. The Firm and Lift sheet mask helps improve your skin’s elasticity, will plump up your face and will help penetrate your pores to remove a build-up of toxins. Infused with argan oil it'll help neutralize free radical damage, algae extract will help prevent water loss and grapefruit extract  will help fill out fine lines. It’s also one of the best fitting sheet masks on the market so you can pop it on, chill and not worry about it falling off! 10-15 minutes only.
