Melbourne Cup Trends, Style Inspo And Our Favourite Pieces To Shop

Melbourne Cup is around the corner which means your outfit should be around the corner too. Plus this year there are a whole range of trends for you to choose from. So let’s chat about them quick so we can figure out what to wear!

This year, modern simplicity is set to be big, so you're in luck if OTT florals and brights aren’t your thing, because 2016 is the year to give masculine tailoring, monochrome or even a jumpsuit a go. However, if feminine petty pastels are totally your vibe, there's no need to fret, because they'd never be kicked to the curb.

Instead, this year, think wallpaper florals, crochet and patterns as the details to look for when shopping for you race day outfit; and remember, if your dress is set to be the statement piece then you should pull back on your shoes and keep them simple. A classic black or nude will always work – and vice versa (i.e simple dress can = crazy shoes).

But if you're still a little uneasy re. your outfit, we say try and aim to have two main focal points to your look and not a whole range of jumbled things for the eyes to see - that always helps. (But, if you do love to get dressed up Melbourne Cup is definitely the occasion to do it… so go ahead and go a little crazy if you like!)

Anyway, now that we’ve covered trends, let’s stalk some inspo. Below we’ve rounded up a bunch of our favourite race day looks, but more importantly, we’ve also included a some amazing new things from Rebel Muse we love for you to shop!

Ps. Don’t forget our new shoe store Peachy Keen opens this weekend, so we will have all your shoe requirements covered. Make sure you pop in for a visit X
