Welcome to our favourite looks from the Met Gala 2017, undeniably one of the hottest dates on the farsssshion social calendar (and one of our faves for sure!) Every year celebs descend on the Metropolitan Museum of Art which celebrates the annual Costume institute Exhibition and there's a new theme every time.
2017 was all about Commes des Garçons which is an avant-garde Japanese fashion label. The designer Rei Kawakubo is 74-years-old and one of the most influential designers on the scene. It’s actually only the second time in its 46-year history that the Met Gala has focused on a single living designer. The first was Yves Saint Laurent in 1983 so it's quite a memorable honour.
The title of the Met exhibition this year was 'Rei Kawakubo /Commes des Garçons: Art of the In-between.' And according to curator Andrew Bolton, the exhibition was a riddle “you are not meant to solve.” Soooo there you go. Although with a theme like that we're not sure how easily people were able to pick out their ensembles. HA.
Anyway, our favourite looks from the night are below. Which ones did you love?
