Our May Edit: Everything We're Obsessed With This Month

Happy Mother's Day everyone! We hope you've been spoiling that special lady (or yourself if you're a mama) in your life today. Mamas do a gigantic job for all and probably deserve a few public holidays a year just to chill - but I guess one special day will do...

Can you tell this is being written by a mum? HA.

Seriously though, all I wanted to do was chill today and my wish was granted.

Anyway, it's also May! Can you believe it. Winter is fast approaching so we better enjoy the last few weeks of the semi-warmth we have left, before we need to layer up! So that's it Muses, below are a few of our fave things this month. What have you been loving? We'd love to know!

BRAND

Sisters Beth and Tess of MACGRAW have created a special place for their brand in the Australian high-end luxe fashion sphere and with all their new goodies dropping this month we wanted to share the love. Think lacey and beautiful pieces perfect for the autumn/winter season change and timeless statement pieces that you won't want to throw away - ever! Watch out for more luxe pieces coming soon! Our current faves. are below.

Bell Top Black - $495.00

Purity Trouser - $425.00

Transformation Top - $525.00

SHOP

Be still our beating hearts - Camila and Marc footwear is where it's at. Especially if you are after classic shapes that will never go out of style. Alicia's pick are the Zoey Boots which she says, are "this season's must have!" (Snap them up quick before they're gone.)

Zoey Boot - $599.00

I on the other hand have enlisted the trusty help of Cat this month to break me out of my 'I love to wear all black, all the time,' routine and have bought the following leggings...which are still semi black, but kinda not and are pushing me out of my comfort zone - in the best possible way.

P.E Nation Iron Tyson Legging - $110.00

FOOD

This month Alicia was holiday-ing away in Byron and being the foodie she is, she stumbled on a must try for all you foodies out there; Harvest Restaurant.

"On Wednesday nights Harvest do a foragers night where the foragers find produce that day in 100km radius, then the chefs come up with the menus - with matched wines. Guests don't know what's on the menu until they arrive. The foragers come around to your table before your meal and show you the native Australian produce that is being used in your meals and tell you a little about them. The chefs then also serve the meals to your table and explain the dish to you. Harvest is about a 15 minute drive out of Byron but worth the visit!" Alicia says.

RANDOM OTHER STUFF

This month Alicia's been loving @fash_rev 'fashion revolution week', which is basically a week that invites consumers curious about their clothing and ask #whomadeyourclothes. A topic very near to our hearts and one that coincides with the fourth anniversary of the Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh that killed thousands of garment makers. To find out more visit Fashionrevolution.org

On a totally unrelated topic I was obsessed with flying to Fiji with my baby (and my husband of course) for the first time last week. If you are a mama or have travelled with a baby before maybe you will understand the anxiety that comes with planning for an overseas trip. (But everything turned out fine.) Anyway, thanks to my husband, who is the king of planning overseas holidays we stayed at the super luxe Jean-Micheal Cousteau Resort, which is pretty much the equivalent of Disneyland for parents. There's so much to say about this resort that it's deserving of its own blog post, but to cut things short: you get a nanny, the food is on fuego and the kids have a gazillion and one things to do, while you as a parent actually get to chill. It's very pricey - but worth the moolah.

And finally, a little beauty for you! Because this month Acacia has been loving her lip routine (which is very important, espesh in winter FYI).

"I use a Bubblegum Lip Scrub from Lush - $9.95, it’s made out of sugar so I can just lick it off after I’m done exfoliating – super helpful after you’ve already done your makeup! I’ll follow that with my Rosehip Seed Lip Cream from Aesop - $15.00! I wear a lot of matte lips/ lipstick in general and it just conditions them so well, they feel like new. After scrubbing they’re so fresh and new it actually looks like I’ve already put lippy on already!
