Super Easy Juice Recipes To End Summer With

Hi friend, Cat here! Most of you (if not some of you) know me from the store, or we may have chatted over email or phone. I'm the boutique manager you see! While working in fashion feeds the right side of my brain, I'm also studying Human Nutrition and Psychology at UC, this feeds the left side. Which could always use a bit of work as I am definitely more creative than logical.

I am an honest believer in food as medicine. As a lot of my tutors and lecturer’s tell me every year “the human body is an amazing thing”.

As a bit of a constructive challenge, I wanted to write about a few simple (and yes, actually simple) ways I’ve used what I’ve learned at uni so far and adopted them into my everyday life. Because while the idea of having a balanced diet is a great new years resolution, the word I am going to emphasise here is balance.

Meaning you’re going to have to work at this a little everyday.

No it doesn’t get easier... You just get better at it!

So let’s start with fresh juice!

Juice is a great way to nourish your body from the inside out (without eating a tonne of salad). Plus, as your body doesn’t have to work too hard to break it down, it’s absorbed as soon as it enters your belly (on a cellular level.. #science!) They’re also colourful and delicious! AND you can whip these up without going to the health food store and buying ingredient’s you can't pronounce.

As long as you have at least three of these ingredients and a juicer (or nutri bullet type of thing) then you're good to go!

Leafy greens: spinach, kale, coriander, parsley, mint

A little crunch: celery, cucumber, apple, carrot

Some zest: lemon, lime, kiwi fruit, grapefruit

A sweetener: orange, beetroot, pineapple, watermelon

A little kick: ginger

The following recipes make about two-three serves (depending on how big your serves are). I usually drink mine out of a big tall glass with ice. And for those of you wondering, the juicer I use is the Breville Juice Fountain Max - $179.00.

Below are my three favourite juice creations. Enjoy!
