Fashfest, now in its fourth year, is a three day fashion experience that showcases local and emerging fashion talent and creates a whole fashion-y experience for our little town, that’s been missing for a number of years. This year the three-day event is being held from the 29th of September to the 1st of October and we’re looking forward to heading along on opening night.
You see although we’re not pulling any stock for this event for the first time EVER, major Australian labels such as Alice McCall, Asilio, MLM and Hansen and Gretel will be showcasing their wares.
It’s excitement overload really, and since we currently stock all these labels in store it’s an opportunity to shop direct from runway post event – like the rest of the fashion world!
The first show (feat. Asilio and Alice McCall) will be at 630pm followed by the next (feat MLM and Hansel and Gretel) which will be at 830pm. If you’re heading along make sure you watch out for us! And if you’re not, our Snapchat (@RebelMuseAu) and Instagram handles will be where it’s at. Follow along and we promise you’ll feel like you’re there.
Anyway, it’s going to be a fun night. There’ll also be more designers from interstate and overseas this year than ever before, more music, more models, just more of everything! It’s set to be big.
The Canberra Centre will also be taking part this year so you’ll be likely to see mainstream brands such as Seed, CUE, Veronika Maine, Country Road and Decjuba showcase their stuff as well.
If you haven’t grabbed yourself a ticket we highly recommend buying yourself one. Prices start from $49 so they’re super affordable. Plus, once you have your ticket you could then pop on over to Rebel Muse and hunt for a fun outfit for Fashfest when you're done, *two birds with one stone…wink, wink.*
Although seriously, what do you wear to Fashfest?
Our weather has been a little nutso so it’ll pay to plan ahead – keep two outfit choices on standby. Maybe even three. Also, remember fashion can be fun and if you want to stand out that’s ok, but there’s no need to go too crazy.
And if the whole situation re. 'getting dressed for Fashfest' is stressing you out - maybe you're not that ‘fashion-y,’ or you seriously just have no time to shop then we recommend sticking to all black. It’s a winner every time.
Or you can just shop our stock online – that's super easy too and we're currently obsessed with the following:
