We’re over halfway through the year now so you know what that means? Christmas is right around the corner HA. But seriously, if this month could just speed on past so that we can get back to warmer weather and sipping mojitos in the sunshine that would be great.
Without further ado though, and as we (hopefully) speed on through one more month of the Canberra cold, we thought we’d round up some of the things the RM staff have been loving (while we hibernate the cold winter away).
AND what have you guys been loving? Spill your secrets. We’d love to know! Tell us below.
BRAND
Hansen and Gretel are the ultimate for filling your wardrobe with the wardrobe staples it needs. Inspired by classic styles, their stuff is produced with an innovative approach to design plus wearability – which in reality tends to matter the most. BONUS: half of their stuff is currently on SALE at RM!
SHOP
Speaking of Hansen and Gretel, and since we are in the middle of winter these are our shopping picks. 1: Their Charlie Shearling Coat – $699.00 which seems to be getting quite the workout. Not only is it ridiculously warm for our current arctic temps but it’s also quite long and finishes below your hips.
2: However if you’re after something a little more classic from the brand, we’re also a tad obsessed with their Joan Velvet Black Jacket – $349.00 which could also work for many a function and help take you from day to night.
Also; have you heard? The new colours and a restock of our old fave C&M Roll Sleeve Tee’s – $99.00 have landed at RM. I wear these all the time. Even when I’m bumming around the house. The best investment, super comfy and will make you feel put together when you’re not really doing much #winning. Seriously though, get in quick before they sell out.
FOOD
I know it’s cold but in the spirit of getting ready for summer (and also in the spirit of being pregnant and eating for two) I have been obsessed with ice-cream. I’ve actually been making these COYO Peanut Butter Icy Poles by Nutritionist Jacqueline Alwill to share with my toddler. Super easy and not filled with a bunch of crap. So it’s kind of justified. HA.
RANDOM OTHER STUFF
So the new Elizabeth and James perfume Nirvana Black is finally landing at Sephora Aus. in July and I can’t deal. As a lover of non floraly fragrances it’s kind of a good balance between a masculine and feminine scent that is wearable all year round. Think violet, sandalwood with a hint of vanilla. Spicy and so much yum!
I have also been loving the semi-new BECCA first light priming filter – $65.00. It’s just a purplish primer you pop on under your BB cream or foundation and it primes and instantly gives your face a pep up. I was worried about this colour as I thought it’d only suit lighter skin tones and I’m quite medium but it seems to work (and helps you look more awake then you really are.)
And SEED baby clothing. It’s the cutest. I know, babies grow quick and nothing ever fits them for very long BUT I can’t help myself. (I’m also currently pregnant and very into nesting nice and early.)
This month Alicia is obsessed with Yoga at Soulutions Yoga Studio.
“The studio is above Rebel Muse and its such a great community. The SoulFlow and SoulBurn classes are my faves. They’re both done in heated rooms and are based around Vinyasa practice. So it continually flows and is more lively and a faster pace to other yoga practices. And it’s such a full body workout! They strengthen, stretch and make you sweat like nothing else! The Yoga instructors also have a way of sharing valuable thoughts, words and teachings throughout your practice to help wash away any of the days stresses. They do teach other forms of Yoga there too, as well as Pilates and Barre classes. Soulutions is owned and run by internationally renowned yoga instructor Bonnie Argo and Specialist Sports Physiotherapist Roz Penfold, whom aside from treating all my injuries from when I was a dancer, also treats Olympians and the Australian Ballet Company, so you know you are in good hands at Soulutions.
And a little late to the party but GAME OF THRONES!
“Ok so I might be a little bit late on the bandwagon (like 4 years late), but oh my god Game Of Thrones! I’ve only just started watching it, I don’t watch TV and never really get into a TV series and binge watch or anything like that. But I have been staying up an hour past my bed time to watch and episode of Game Of Thrones. I’m only 4 episodes in, so it’s going to take me a while to catch up! Haha but I’m already hooked.” Alicia says.
This month Cat’s favourite lip colour is Pigalle by NARS – $40.00. “I love it because they don’t test on furry animals! But also because it’s the perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade.
Also a bit random, but if you wear glasses this month cat’s recommending Bailey Nelson Frames the perfect ‘I’m on a budget’ type of option.
“They are super affordable, especially after health cover. And they carry just about every shape and frame style in there (without the designer label, of course) Really good quality and tough to break!”
