Bloggers and influencers listen up! It’s free to register too. So let’s find out a little more below.
Tell us about WINK Models + theright.fit . What does a typical day in the office look like?
I get up at 5.30am to hit the gym, and do a circuit style workout, usually with my team from the office. After hitting the showers and getting dressed, I’m at my desk by 7.30am for my first meeting with our NY office for theright.fit. It’s then back to back meetings until about 11am with our developers, designers, and my WINK models team in Melbourne. I eat breakfast at my desk - boiled egg on gluten free toast, with a long black.
I usually have a few more meetings in the afternoon; so will be running around Surry Hills, Sydney city to meet with new & existing clients. Our day is certainly not 9am-5pm, and we’re online, solving problems, connecting, servicing jobs at all times. In the evening, we usually have a launch or event after work - anything from a gala ball, to a pop up fashion store, so it’s a quick hair & makeup freshen up, outfit change, and then off to do some networking and socialising. I hit the hay at around 11.30pm and am ready to do it all again the next day!
What’s your 9-5 style?
It varies depending on what events & meetings I have on (i.e. if I'm presenting, pitching, or the type of people I'm meeting with.) Generally I'm in all black, but my go to outfit is made up of nude Louboutin pumps, a black Scanlan & Theodore leather high waisted skirt, a black Acne singlet, diamond studs, my Rolex, and a Cartier love bangle. Simple, classic, timeless.
Can you tell us the best career advice you’ve ever been given? What would you say to an aspiring model wanting to break into the industry?
Really take care of your health and fitness. It’s a demanding industry that can take a toll on your body and your health. Modelling involves a lot of late nights, early starts and crazy hours so you need to look after yourself. And stay persistent. As a model you will experience a lot of castings and a lot of ‘no’s’. Don’t be disheartened. Be professional and honour your commitments.
What are five things you always carry in your handbag?
Elizabeth Arden 8hr cream. Pen and leather journal. My wallet. Mobile phone. Ray Ban aviators.
Is there any music you’re currently playing on repeat?
Universe by Aquarius Heaven - Cant get it out of my head!
How do you normally scout models to join WINK? Is there a specific look you always go for?
We actually rarely scout, as we get 30-40 applications a day!! Word of mouth is really strong in our industry and we are lucky to have a great reputation so people approach us to join. For us it's equally about looks, professionalism and attitude, so we take all of these factors on board when signing up new talent.
Where do you go to for creative inspiration?
Instagram for a quick flick of what’s happening in my friendship groups, and what events are on. We're lucky to have so many amazing bloggers on theright.fit so I'll usually swing by their pages to check out what’s hot and get inspired. A few are: http://www.themakeupbytammi.com/ & http://www.krumbled.com/ & http://www.mrsimonhancock.com/
Do you have a favourite editorial/event with one of your talents you could describe to us?
Oh there have been so many! Those below are a few of my faves:
If you weren’t doing what you do, where do you think you’d be?
Working in tech, definitely! I love that my new start up allows me to indulge this side. It’s incredible the problems we can solve given the advances in technology and connectivity. I’d also like to have more time to mentor other women in the start up space.
If you could work with one model (or 'It gal') past or present who would it be?
I’d have to say Twiggy, just because she would have so many incredible stories, and is such an icon.
Where would we typically find you on a Sunday morning?
After hitting the gym for a quick workout, you’d find me reading the newspaper over a long breakfast and lots of coffees, doing the Good Weekend Quiz (its my favourite weekend indulgence!)
Tell us, who's your favourite model? Have you ever wanted to break into the modelling industry?
